Britney Spears IS Pregnant!
Topic: Females
Ya know a year or two ago Britney Spears was one of the hottest and most talked about celebrities. She was one of the most searched on search engines.

Then she decided to kill her popularity (among men anyways) by getting married. I'm sorry - but she seemed more sexier when she was single. But it seems once she got married things went downhill.

I visit celebrity message boards, and the messages about her are downright nasty. It seems her sexiness has disappeared. There are pics floating around the 'Net that show her wearing awful clothes - and she has even been referred to as "trailer trash".

But now - she's PREGNANT! So we can all forgive her for the unsexy photos that are circling around - or that are going to circle around in the future.

The question is - will she ever be as sexy as she once was? Will she be as popular as she once was? Or will this husband of hers destroy her career? Who knows what will happen. Only time will tell. Do guys still want her to pose in Playboy one day?? Or is she already yesterday's news?

Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000 DVR Review
Topic: Electronics
Yesterday I traded in one of my Time Warner digital cable boxes for a DVR (Digital Video Recorder). It is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000.

The first thing I noticed is its huge! Its about twice the size of my other digital cable box (Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2200). The remote is bigger as well. Its a universal remote that can be set up to control a TV set, DVD player, VCR, and audio receiver.

The DVR service is only $6.95/mo. This is definitely a better deal than Tivo as far as basic DVR service. Tivo charges just under 13 bucks a month. Most of that charge is probably for their added features which really aren't that worth it.

The SE Explorer 8000 has two tuners. That means one channel can be watched while recording another on the hard drive. Or even 2 channels can be recorded at once! And it can also record two channels at once while another saved recording is being watched off the hard drive.

Its a powerful box. Because of all these capabilites its kind of easy to overlook its ridiculously huge size. The SE Explorer 8000 can hold up to 40 hours of recordings on its hard drive. It also has PIP (picture-in-picture) built in.

One thing that is missing is the option to skip ahead 30 seconds in order to make it easy to skip commercials. I'm pretty sure Tivo has this option on their DVRs. But overall the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000 is a great alternative to Tivo.

I think a DVR is a great device to use to enhance one's TV viewing. If you're watching something on TV and want an instant replay you can actually rewind live TV. The Explorer 8000 DVR stores up to an hour of what you are watching live.

Survivor: Palau Premieres
Now Playing: Chevelle - "The Clincher"
Topic: TV
Well last Thursday (Feb 17), the 10th season of Survivor premiered on CBS - Survivor: Palau. Wow 10 seasons? It seems like this reality show just started just 5 or so years ago - oh wait, it pretty much did. I passed on the first season, but really got into it on the 2nd - when it premiered after the Superbowl. That season is still my favorite.

Anyways, this season to change things up and keep things interesting, they started with 20 survivors. But only 17 were remaining at the end of the 1st episode? How'd they do that you ask? Well 2 contestants were thrown off the island by not getting picked for one of the 2 tribes. And then the 3rd was voted off in the first tribal council. This season seems like its going to be quite better than last year. The last few seasons I could barely remember, as they weren't very interested. Of course, there's a few people you can't forget like Johnny Fairplay, Rupert and the sexy Jenna (I'm talking about the one that posed for Playboy - not the one with the sex tape). There are a few girls that serve as nice eye candy this season as well. And already in the first episode there was a lot of blurring going on (to block out the nudity).

So I'm sure this season has quite a few surprises to keep us all tuning in each week - I sure hope so - there was one season I totally gave up on as it was such a bore. Is Survivor still entertaining? Sure, when done right.

Well I'm about to log off to watch SNL. Yeah, some weeks its painful to watch as there are quite a few unfunny sketches. But once in a while there's a memorable sketch. And I always did like the way the parodied current events and such.

The Surreal Life 4
Now Playing: Korn - "Another Brick in the Wall" (parts 1, 2, 3)
Topic: TV
Well its 2005 and I haven't made an entry in this blog in over a month! Soooo here's one...

I was channel surfing a few nights ago and noticed The Surreal Life 4 was airing on VH1. I was planning on watching this one from the beginning but I guess I missed the premiere episode. So I caught about the last 15 minutes of the first episode. What I saw was poor Verne Troyer (mini-me from Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me) drunk and naked. I kinda felt sorry for the little dude. He was so drunk he was peeing on the floor. Also on the show is one of the dudes off the Brady Bunch I think, 90s rapper Da Brat, some lady from an 80s band (I think), former female wrestler Chyna, the winner of the first America's Next Top Model (Adrianne I think her name is) and some other guy. Well based on the previews for the upcoming episodes it looks like it might turn out to be funny and fun to watch. It might be better than the last Surreal Life with Flavor Flav and the others. My favorite season so far was season 2 with Vanilla Ice, Ron Jeremy and the others.

Anne Hathaway Shedding Her Good Girl Image
Topic: Females
In some more movie/celeb news: Anne Hathaway who played the princess in the family movie The Princess Diaries is shedding her good girl image and doing some nudity. Not just topless but full frontal nudity and rumors have it that she shows a lot of her body. The movie you'll see this great nudity in is called Havoc. I think its being released this spring. Now lets hope that the director doesn't decide to cut the scene - like what happened to the Natalie Portman nudity in Closer. Also appearing nude in Havoc is the sexy Bijou Phillips. Of course you can already see her fully nude in the Larry Clark movie called Bully - along with the beautiful Rachel Miner. LOL, ok that's enough nude talk for now folks!
